Jyotiraditya’s focus in Guna has been to develop channels that allow today’s generation to equip themselves better and prepare themselves for post-graduation employment.
In July 2010, he set up the Vocational Training Centre in Guna, which is a joint venture between IL&FS Transportation Networks Limited (ITNL) and GAIL. Its primary purpose has been to equip young adults with the skills required to connect them with the mainstream job market.
Many students who joined the Centre have progressed to employment in prominent multinational companies like Whirlpool, Electrolux, and Dominos.
The Vocational Training Centre is not the only skill-enhancing initiative launched by Jyotiraditya Scindia in Guna. A Footwear Design and Development Institute (FDDI), which is one of the seven FDDIs in the country with an investment of Rs. 110 Crore, and a Rs. 50 Crore Spice Park were set up in Guna.
To improve the education facilities in the region, a middle school, high school and a Navodaya Vidyalaya were set up in the region with an investment of Rs. 21 crore.
